With the 2026 NFL Draft le s than a month away, each team's plans are beginning to take fruition. While free agency or trades could change things, the po sible paths for each team at this point are relatively known. For the , with picks No. 2, 16, 33, and 44, they could look to land multiple elite players in this cla s. But, it likely won't be a quarterback with either of their first-round picks at second and 16th overall. Instead, the Jets could get aggre sive, just as predicts. Sobleski is predicting that the Jets make a bold trade, similar to what the did last year for Jaxson Dart, targeting someone like Ty Simpson. Jets predicted to trade back into R1 for Ty Simpson "New York Jets trade back into 1st round to make 3rd selection," Sobleski predicts. "The New York Jets have ma sive amounts of draft capital, which they should use to find their franchise quarterback." While the Jets aren't likely to select a quarterback with the No. 2 or No. 16 overall picks in the upcoming 2026 NFL Draft, with their two second-rounders and draft capital down the board, they could look to trade back into the first round for Artis Gilmore Jersey a quarterback. Last year, the Giants did the same thing, trading back into the first round and drafting Dart. That worked out, as Dart looks like a po sible franchise guy for the Giants moving forward. If the Jets could draft a top defensive player at No. 2, and another wide receiver at No. 16, then turn around and trade up for Simpson at quarterback, they could have three picks in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft to completely overhaul the roster. More : With both Aaron Glenn and Darren Mougey potentially on the hot seat, taking this swing for Simpson in the latter half of the first round wouldn't be a terrible idea. There are going to be some teams interested in him, especially as the draft moves along. Their biggest obstacle will be the at 21st overall and the at 24th overall. But, if Simpson makes it past both, or even if the Jets can find a reasonable trade ask from a team picking ahead of those two teams, then moving back up and taking Simpson, like Sobleski is predicting, could make a lot of sense. It's a risk, but for the Jets, taking a big gamble at the quarterback position isn't the worst idea. If all else fails, and Simpson and Geno Smith look bad in 2026, then we can draft a QB early in the first round of the 2027 NFL Draft when the cla s is expected to be great.
